Train the Trainer - Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

Course Description

Trainers who wish to deliver training to others in post compulsory education will need to possess this nationally recognised qualification in training delivery.

In addition they will need to demonstrate sector competence for the sector they wish to deliver training to.

The course, delivered by one of our partner organisations, is designed the develop the skills and ability of the trainer to deliver quality programmes and, support the trainer in achieving the qualification to do so.

The training can be delivered as an intensive short course or over a period of weeks.  Evidence of achievement is obtained through classroom based deliveries and, through completion of an assigned project which forms part of the assessment and qualifications process.

The course comprises
Section 1 – Understanding the trainers role, responsibilities and the boundaries of the role in relation to teahcing
Section 2 – Understand approapriate teaching and learning approaches in the specialist area
Section 3 – Demonstrate session planning skills
Section 4 – Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions which motivate learners
Section 5 – Understand the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping
