The one day paediatric First Aid course gives you an understanding of the key elements of paediatric First Aid. Further, it provides you with the ability to assess an emergency situation, and prioritise your actions. It is a really useful course and grounding however;
It is not a replacement for the full 2 day paediatric First Aid qualification. Equally important, it does not meet all the Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Registration requirements. These requirements specify that at least one person who has a current paediatric First Aid certificate must be on premises and available at all times when children are present. (They must also accompany children on outings. Childminders and assistants in sole charge of children must hold the full 2 day qualification.
